Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut stated on Saturday that the Congress party is not a sinking ship and urged leaders who had previously left the party to reunite and strengthen it. Raut appealed to NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar to take the initiative in this direction, emphasizing the need to unite against what he described as the 'perverted' politics of the BJP.
Raut's remarks came a day after Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis called the Congress a sinking ship. The Sena (UBT) spokesperson asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi still fears the Congress and questioned the BJP's historical contributions, stating they were absent from key movements like the freedom struggle and the Samyukta Maharashtra Movement.
He further alleged that the Election Commission functions as an agent of the BJP and that the Union Home Minister is preoccupied with matters other than national security. Raut described PM Modi as an 'aghori' and cruel person, comparing him to Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, who he noted was also born in Gujarat.
