Marjorie Taylor Greene aligns with Tucker Carlson in breaking with Republican party

Carlson, a former Fox News host, stated on a podcast that he would no longer support the Republican party after decades of backing it, emphasizing that this did not equate to supporting the Democratic party. He suggested that if he is leaving the party, many others might follow.

Greene echoed Carlson's sentiment on social media, writing that many Republicans are "absolutely fed up" and will not support a party that "betrays its voters and country." She also clarified that this does not mean a turn towards the Democratic party, but a definitive break from what she termed the "America LAST Republican Party."

Both Carlson and Greene have been critical of the current US president's foreign policy, particularly regarding the conflict with Iran, and what they perceive as a failure to address domestic issues like inflation. Greene's rift with Trump reportedly widened after she criticized the administration's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, leading Trump to refer to her as "Marjorie 'Traitor' Greene." Greene subsequently decided not to seek another term in the House of Representatives and stepped down from Congress at the beginning of the year, later revealing she and her family received death threats following Trump's public criticism.
