Hind Rajab Foundation asks US Justice Dept. to prosecute Ben-Gvir

HRF stated that Ben-Gvir has explicitly aimed to worsen conditions for detained Palestinians since assuming his role. The group detailed alleged abuses including starvation, beatings, denial of medical care, and sexual violence, noting that at least 46 Palestinians died in Israeli custody between October 2023 and August 2025. The complaint also mentioned abuse of individuals, including U.S. citizens, detained during Gaza-bound flotillas in 2025 and 2026.

Ahead of Ben-Gvir's expected visit to New York on July 7-8, HRF urged U.S. authorities to initiate a criminal investigation, issue an arrest warrant, or prevent him from leaving U.S. jurisdiction during the examination of the case. The filing is based on the U.S. War Crimes Act and Genocide Statute as part of a broader effort to achieve accountability through domestic legal channels.
