The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted a flight test of the Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM) on Monday from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the Odisha coast. According to a press release from the Defence Ministry, all test objectives were fully met, based on data captured by various tracking instruments deployed by Integrated Test Range, Chandipur.
The LRLACM is an indigenously developed missile, with all its sub-systems created by various DRDO laboratories and Indian industry partners. The Aeronautical Development Establishment in Bengaluru served as the nodal laboratory for its development. Senior officials from DRDO, along with user representatives from the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force, witnessed the launch.
