China sanctions on U.S. firms show suppliers are 'unreliable,' official says

Beijing announced sanctions targeting 10 U.S. firms with military ties, prohibiting them from exporting "dual-use" items. Concurrently, Chinese government entities were banned from purchasing goods from 46 other American companies.

The official, responding to Yonhap News Agency, stated, "DOW's 1260H procurement restrictions help ensure secure and reliable supply chains for U.S. military forces. Beijing's response only validates the assessment that Chinese suppliers are unreliable." Section 1260H refers to measures by the Pentagon to exclude entities linked to the Chinese military from U.S. defense supply chains, requiring the Pentagon to maintain a list of such entities.

Earlier in June, the Pentagon added Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba and other companies to this 1260H list, intensifying efforts to prevent Chinese military-linked entities from participating in U.S. defense supply chains.
