The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a clarification regarding its policy for the re-evaluation of answer sheets for the 12th-grade examinations in 2026. The board specifically addressed the rule for questions that students may have attempted more than once, often referred to as over-attempted questions. According to the clarification, in cases where a student provides multiple answers to a single question, only the answer that receives the highest marks will be considered for the final score. Any subsequent or additional responses submitted by the student for that same question will be marked accordingly but will not be included in the calculation of the total marks. This measure aims to ensure fairness and consistency in the evaluation process.
