Diesel has quietly become the tightest link in the energy complex while attention stays on crude oil and gasoline. Constrained global refining capacity, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and attacks on Russian refineries have pulled distillate out of world trade at the same time. For agriculture, that cost travels through every tractor, truck and food price, and ultimately could cause inflation to stick around for a longer time.
