‘Wreaked havoc on international economy’: US-Iran war rages on following latest strikes

Assistant Foreign Minister Matt Thistlethwaite has criticised the “tit for tat” strikes between America and Iran as the conflict shows no real signs of slowing down. This comes after the US military struck three Iranian crude oil carriers. US CENTCOM claims the strikes were in retaliation to Iranian attacks on American Navy warships. “It’s wreaked havoc on the international economy,” Mr Thistlethwaite told News24 Political Editor Andrew Clennell. “We would prefer to see de-escalation, the negotiation of a permanent ceasefire and the Strait of Hormuz reopen permanently so normal shipping can resume, and we take this pressure of cost of living.”
