‘We’ve got to be really careful’: AI self-improvement increases need for effective 'guardrails'

​Shadow Science and Technology Minister Aaron Violi emphasises the importance of Artificial Intelligence “guardrails” as it continues to rapidly self-improve. ​“Like any technology, there are significant opportunities, significant benefits to the country, to the economy,” Mr Violi told News24. ​“There are also risks, and we need to be clear-eyed about those risks. ​“The real debate is how fast we move while making sure the guardrails are in place. ​“We’ve got to be really careful.”
