US Embassy responds to Labor’s ‘reckoning’ Digital Duty of Care laws

Institute of Public Affairs Director of Research Morgan Begg reacts to the US Embassy responding to Labor’s proposed Digital Duty of Care laws, citing that they will likely see it as “facilitating censorship”. “The Albanese government has spoken about the Digital Duty of Care as being a reckoning for big tech,” Mr Begg told News24 Digital Presenter Gabriella Power. “They’ve also called the Digital Duty of Care a world-leading reform. “They envisage this to be exported to other parts of the planet.”
