Digital Duty of Care laws ‘risk of extraterritorial effect’

Institute of Public Affairs Director of Research Morgan Begg says Labor’s Digital Duty of Care laws will risk an “extraterritorial effect” as it will be administered by the eSafety Commissioner. “This scheme will be overseen and administered by the eSafety Commissioner, who has in the past attempted to force X to remove links from its global servers,” Mr Begg told News24 Digital Presenter Gabriella Power. “Which highlights the risk of extraterritorial effect.”
