UK government faces backlash over asylum guide outlining basic rules on women and sex

News24 host James Morrow reacts to the UK government releasing a document to help asylum seekers integrate into the country. “They published a guide called ‘understanding behaviours and expectations in the UK, a guide for asylum seekers’,” Mr Morrow said. “Here are just a few gems: The document warns that even if you are a male family member of a woman, you are not allowed to stop women from working or studying, or control where they go, or generally treat her like property. It also warns asylum seekers that physically abusing or controlling their partners is a big no. And that actually, you're not allowed to threaten, force or pressure someone into having sex, or have sex with someone who is passed out drunk or any number of other things. In other words, please don't rape.”
