‘Sucking up all the oxygen’: Trump’s Iran war threatens Republican midterm hopes

News24 contributor Kristin Tate warns the prolonged Iran war is exhausting Americans and could become a political liability for Republicans ahead of the midterms. “At this point I just don’t know how long this is going to continue and how long the Trump administration is going to continue trying to negotiate something and talking with the Iranians,” Ms Tate told News24 host Chris Kenny. “I know a lot of average Americans and my family and my friends, and the war in Iran has just become so exhausting to them, and it’s not one of their top concerns. “This Iran war is sucking up all the oxygen in the room; the administration is focusing on something that is not a top daily priority for Americans. “There’s chatter in the political class that this is all really going to harm republicans in the midterms.”
