News24 host Sharri Markson condemns the collapse of Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial after a jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict. “The criminal trial of Lindsay Clancy has collapsed without a verdict, with the Judge being forced to declare a mistrial,” Ms Markson said. “Clancy has admitted to killing her three children, but her defence team argued she was suffering from post-partum psychosis, a very rare condition which meant she shouldn't be held criminally responsible. “Women all dressed in pink packed outside the courthouse, showing their support for her. Half the internet is backing her and somehow casting the blame on her ex-husband and those who didn't give her support. “The 12-person jury was unable to reach a unanimous consensus after deliberating for almost 40 hours. 11 voted to acquit, but one held out. “For all the mums out there who feel sorry for Lindsay, spare a thought for victims … they are the ones you should feel sorry for.”
