Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey sign Nato-style defence pact

United States Studies Centre Honorary Associate Dr Harry Melkonian says Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey have signed a defence pact as tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate. “Turkey has wanted to have a more expanded role in this part of the world,” Dr Melkonian told News24. “From the West's standpoint, that’s probably desirable, because Turkey is a full-fledged member of NATO.”
