Regime change in Iran can no longer be overnight, must be ‘long term’

Foundations of Defence for Democracies Research Analyst Janatan Sayeh says the perception of regime change in Iran has shifted since the war began and is now considered only a long-term possibility. “Prior to the recent war, the idea was that regime change would [happen] overnight. So, in January we thought if millions came out, which now it's reported maybe tens of millions came out, the regime would be overthrown,” Mr Sayeh told News24 host James Bolt. “We saw the scale of their brutality. “If there’s going to be ambitions of regime change, they have to be long term.”
