Desperate Iranians will do ‘almost anything’ to have the ‘regime gone’

Foundations of Defence for Democracies Research Analyst Janatan Sayeh says US President Donald Trump’s threats on critical infrastructure would have innocents caught in the crossfire and have the potential to turn other Iranians against the US. “I think the real Achilles heel is going to be the power grids. It’s not so much the target itself but the messaging behind it,” Mr Sayeh told News24 Digital Presenter James Bolt. “They’ve been living under the regime’s brutality for decades now, and it has gotten much worse in recent years … executions are rising, inflation continues to soar. “They want the regime gone, almost at any cost.”
