Queensland Premier David Crisafulli says he is open to new coal-fired power stations to drive the state’s prospective AI data centre industry after receiving a “massive” carve-out. This has enabled US tech giant Anthropic to propose a $32 billion data centre in the state’s Western Downs. “We’re open-minded to whatever the energy form looks like,” Mr Crisafulli said.
