Former Labor Minister Stephen Conroy argues Spain’s government is failing to address a housing shortage that is forcing long-term renters out of the areas where they have lived for years. “The social contract that people have with their governments is that basic services will be available,” Mr Conroy told News24 Digital Presenter Gabriella Power. “You're seeing situations where people have lived in places for a long time renting are being pushed out of housing because the Airbnb world has come along. “People have got nowhere to live, and they've been pushed further and further and further from where they've lived most of their lives. “Clearly the government aren't doing enough to address the shortage of housing.”
