Littleproud ‘comfortable’ with Anthropic-backed Queensland data centre

Nationals MP David Littleproud says he’s “comfortable” with the Anthropic-backed $32 billion Queensland data centre as it will only use around “six megalitres” per year to run. “This has only just started and hasn’t had official approval yet,” Mr Littleproud told News24. “My biggest concern was around water, but the technology they’re using, the dry cooling, the air cooling, means that there’s only about six megalitres of water a year that’s required. In fact, they’ll capture most of that. “The water was an issue, but I’m more comfortable about that now.”
