Albanese is trying to ‘create fear’ around AI to ‘regulate the internet’

New South Wales Libertarian MLC John Ruddick says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is “creating fear” surrounding AI in a push to “regulate the internet”. “I am worried that what’s happening in New York this week is we’re going to have this big summit about regulating AI,” Mr Ruddick said. “What Mr Albanese is doing is creating all this fear, and then the UN is going to come in and say we have to regulate the internet. “This is the old story of the state trying to control free speech, and I reject what Mr Albanese is doing.”
