Labor spends billions ‘of your money’ to help Whyalla steelworks to ‘no avail’

News24 host Chris Kenny reacts to the Whyalla steelworks forcing 600 workers to step down as the plant enters administration. “600 workers might soon be stood down because the coal-fired blast furnace that’s been out of action for months can’t be restarted,” Mr Kenny said. “The plant has been in dire straits for years and is in administration, looking for a new buyer, which is why state and federal Labor tipped in billions of dollars of your money, apparently all to no avail. “Coal is seen as evil, and it's been all about net zero and so-called green steel.”
