NSW Independent MP Tania Mihailuk questions the urgency and practicality of Premier Chris Minns’ proposed gun buyback scheme. “Minns originally bought this obviously after the tragedy in Bondi and brought this very quickly into parliament and told us there was a lot of urgency to this gun buyback scheme,” Ms Mihailuk told News24 host Jaimee Rogers. “Interestingly, states like Queensland and Victoria have rejected the idea of it, which says a lot. “It’s a very sensitive issue. “Ultimately, what this scheme is going to do is punish people.”
