Heavy rain triggers flash floods in Peru’s capital

Heavy rain is inundating parts of Peru. Prolonged rainfall in southern Lima is leading to flash flooding in the country’s capital. Some communities have been cut off while others have been forced to evacuate. Peru’s President Keiko Fujimori has indicated she will visit the Lima districts affected by the wet weather in the coming days, which are expected to see more rain.
