Former NSW premier resigns as Cricket Australia chair

Former NSW premier Mike Baird has stepped down as the Chair and Director of Cricket Australia. The move comes after New South Wales Cricket withdrew support for the former premier to remain director after he pushed ahead with the privatisation of Sydney's Big Bash clubs. Former Test batter David Boon will replace Mr Baird on an interim basis from October 28. In a statement, Mr Baird said he is proud of the work he has done during his almost four-year tenure as Chair.
