​Melbourne Business School’s Jon Whittle warns of “serious problems” if artificial intelligence is not used in a careful manner by humans. ​“These AI models are just very massive statistical engines, and the reason that everyone’s starting to get worried is because they’re getting bigger, and people have run experiments where they’ve been able to hack systems,” Mr Whittle told News24 host Chris Kenny. ​“So there are worries that these systems could hack into critical infrastructure and cause a manner of damage. ​“These models can only do what the humans allow them to do. They’re not going rogue, as has often been reported in the media.”
