Ex-NBA star Enes Kanter Freedom thrown out of WNBA game after clash with Natasha Cloud

Former NBA star Enes Kanter Freedom has been ejected from a WNBA game between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever on Sunday night, following a heated clash with Sky guard Natasha Cloud. The incident occurred late in the third quarter at Wintrust Arena, where Freedom was sitting courtside as a spectator. He was wearing a shirt reading "WOMAN. noun. adult human female," a reference to the ongoing debate over transgender athletes in women's sport. Cloud confronted Freedom from the court, shouting and pointing in his direction. Freedom responded, prompting security and several Sky players to step in before he was escorted out of the arena. Indianapolis-based sports journalist Tony East posted footage of the ejection to X, captioning it: "Enes Freedom just got into it with some Sky players, then was escorted out of the arena. Natasha Cloud was clearly upset in a verbal exchange." The clash follows a history of public disagreement between Freedom and Cloud, after he previously criticised her for describing America as "trash." At the time, he offered to buy her a ticket to a country with fewer freedoms, escalating their long-running dispute. The latest incident also comes after Freedom declared his eligibility for the 2027 WNBA Draft, arguing that the league's self-identification guidelines would technically allow him to be considered.
