Digital Duty of Care bill labelled ‘government-sponsored censorship’

Shadow Infrastructure Minister Bridget McKenzie criticises Labor’s language surrounding the Digital Duty of Care bill as a means to “manipulate” the political discourse and online landscape. “It’s this insidious, pervasive form of language that the left uses to manipulate the political discourse,” Ms McKenzie told News24. “Here we’re called a ‘Digital Duty of Care' sounds fantastic, right? If you are against this Digital Duty of Care, you don’t care about young men seeing violent pornography. “That’s sort of the assumption in the language they use. “This is literally dressing up care for government-sponsored censorship.”
