Christa Pike conscious and speaking after surviving two failed execution attempts

Nearly a week after two failed execution attempts, convicted murderer Christa Pike is reported to be conscious and speaking, according to a statement from her attorney. Despite severe damage to her arms sustained during the botched lethal injections, Pike remains handcuffed and shackled to her hospital bed. Her attorney described her recovery as 'medically unprecedented,' while noting her prognosis remains unclear and that a long recovery is expected at minimum. The extraordinary case has drawn significant attention after Pike survived two lethal injection attempts, a highly unusual and rare occurrence in the US justice system.
