Chris Bowen left with ‘egg on his face’ as world leaders snub pre-COP event

Shadow Energy Minister Dan Tehan says Energy Minister Chris Bowen has been left with “egg on his face” as world leaders continue to snub his expensive pre-COP event. ​“The sad reality is Chris Bowen’s ego got ahead of himself, and he appointed himself in negotiations with Turkey as a so-called president, set up an office of president in his own department, staffed it with 35 people and then decided the pre-COP meeting he would send invitations to world leaders,” Mr Tehan told News24. ​“He didn’t pitch it at ministers at his level; he pitched it at world leaders. ​“Now he’s been left with egg on his face.”
