‘Carbon tax by stealth’: Labor’s climate policy could send key industry costs soaring

News24 host Peta Credlin warns Australian manufacturers and resources companies could face a fivefold increase in a key emissions compliance cost under Labor’s proposed climate policy. “Australian manufacturing and resources companies would face a fivefold increase in a key cost of complying with Labor's flagship emissions reduction policy if the government aligned it with the Paris climate agreement,” Ms Credlin said. “This is, as many experts warned today, a carbon tax by stealth. “This is an untenable fivefold increase; we know it goes to consumers; they’ll bear the brunt of this.”
