Calls for irreversible gender surgeries to be scrapped for kids

Political commentator Lucy Zelic says more needs to be done to help kids feel better in their own skin instead of recommending irreversible gender surgeries and medications. “I will always stand by this view that there is no such thing as a trans child,” Ms Zelic told News24 host Danica De Giorgio. “These children are only being recommended that the way that they can resolve this gender dysphoria is through surgery or puberty blockers which we know cause irreversible health issues, sexual dysfunction, infertility. “That is so concerning.”
