Filmmaker Ami Horowitz points to a decline in left-wing governments across the European Union as evidence of a broader political shift across the continent. “This is another leftist country that's going to lose power,” Mr Horowitz told News24 Digital Presenter Gabriella Power. “You now have the EU at 20 per cent of the EU has left-leaning governments in power, and that's down from 10 years ago. It was 40 per cent. “25 years ago, 60 per cent of all EU countries were left-leaning. So, I don't know. I guess that's what you call a trend. “It's not good for the left. I think it is better for Europe.”
