Albanese’s $6m golf course scandal explodes as damning questions emerge

News24 host Peta Credlin launches a blistering attack on Prime Minister Anthony Albanese over the $6 million taxpayer-funded grant awarded to Marrickville Golf Club. “The Senate voted to establish an inquiry into the Albanese government's controversial community grants programme, labelled by critics as nothing more than a pork barrel fund,” Ms Credlin said. “Analysis by the Centre for Public Integrity has shown that 73 per cent of projects approved under this taxpayer-funded programme were in Labor-held seats or key marginals that the government was campaigning to win at last year's election. “An invitation-only scheme: this is where the $6 million grant, paid to the Marrickville Golf Club, came from a grant that we now know has many close links to the prime minister. “What's clear now, all from public evidence, is that Albanese owned homes in the street across from the Marrickville golf course. “They got a $6 million grant, announced by him alone during last year's election campaign, six months before there was even a fund set up and a minister to pay out the grant.”
