A leftover part of a SpaceX rocket has crashed into the moon, just as astronomers predicted. The upper stage of the Falcon 9 was left drifting in space after carrying two lunar landers on their journey to the moon. It was never intended to strike the lunar surface, but its trajectory eventually put it on a collision course.
