Singapore is looking beyond rooftops to ramp up solar energy deployment and meet its higher solar target by 2035. Authorities are exploring installations on building walls, carpark shelters and vacant land, while piloting solar tiles that preserve the appearance of heritage buildings. A new digital platform will also help more private homeowners adopt solar energy. The push comes as available rooftop space becomes increasingly limited, with solar expected to meet at most 10% of Singapore's electricity needs by 2050. Claudia Lim reports.
