Singapore's public healthcare sector is stepping up efforts to go green, with hospitals adopting innovative solutions to cut carbon emissions and reduce costs. Woodlands Hospital has reduced the use of isolation rooms by up to 70%, generating over S$620,000 in savings. Meanwhile, Sengkang General Hospital's energy-efficient air-conditioning system is projected to save S$1.6 million annually. The initiatives come as Singapore's three public healthcare clusters commit to greener clinical practices and more sustainable resource use. Nadine Yeam reports.
