Singapore and ASEAN: Three key areas of growth are energy, finance, data - Chan Chun Sing

Singapore's Defence Minister Chan Chun Sing says the energy grid, financial connectivity and data networks are key areas of growth for ASEAN that will propel other economic activities. He said this at a dialogue on Singapore's competitiveness organised by the Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA). Nasyrah Rohim reports. An SIIA report also highlighted some recommendations to boost competition – from preparing the workforce for AI, to encouraging greater ASEAN integration.
