Power bank emits smoke at Buangkok MRT station

Train service at Buangkok MRT station was delayed by five minutes on Wednesday (Jul 29), after a power bank in a commuter's backpack was seen emitting smoke. The incident occurred at about 5pm on the North East Line platform at the station, said transport operator SBS Transit. A Public Transport Security Command (TransCom) police officer responded to the incident before officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force arrived.
