Physical and mental health could be among areas considered in a future Quality of Life indicator for the National Bonus. One expert says that's because existing economic targets may not fully capture what Singaporeans experience in their daily lives. He adds that a broader measure could better reflect Singaporeans' well-being and social progress. Another analyst says potential private-sector candidates may also consider who they will be working with and whether they share the same values. Having the opportunity to contribute and make a difference could matter too. While the salary review helps narrow the compensation gap, pay alone may not be enough to attract the next generation of political leaders.
