A Philippine court has issued an arrest warrant for Vice President Sara Duterte over alleged death threats against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. In 2024, Duterte claimed she had hired a hitman to kill the president, his wife and a former House speaker, if Duterte herself were killed. The vice president has denied making the threats. Her lawyers say she has no intention of evading the law and will pursue all legal remedies. Duterte is also fighting an impeachment trial that could derail her presidential run in 2028. Jhesset Enano reports from Metro Manila.
