The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has released nearly US$1.24 million to the Nepal Red Cross Society to support relief efforts following the devastating floods in Nepal but says more resources may be needed as the full scale of the disaster becomes clearer. Speaking to CNA’s Asia Tonight, IFRC programme and operations coordinator Shrinkhala Thapa says sustained support will be needed as communities grapple with the loss of homes, roads, bridges and livelihoods.
