Malaysia's Islamist party PAS is seeking to strengthen its appeal beyond its traditional Malay-Muslim base, as it prepares for the next general election. At its annual assembly in Kelantan, the party emphasised Muslim unity, while stressing that this should go hand in hand with protecting the rights of non-Muslims.
