Lions ready to ‘give their all’ against Thailand in semi-final first leg

Lions' head coach Gavin Lee said numbers don’t own the team or him on Friday (Aug 14), ahead of Singapore’s ASEAN football championship semi-final against Thailand on Saturday. “The only number we’ll focus on is the next one, which is the next game,” Lee said, as the Lions look to put themselves in a strong position at home before the return leg in Thailand. Speaking to the media alongside forward Ilhan Fandi, Lee also addressed the strong demand for tickets, which reportedly sold out within minutes, with some later listed for resale for as much as S$1,500. The Lions would rather tickets go to “genuine supporters”, they said, adding that they were nonetheless heartened by the overwhelming support.
