Five people were killed in northern Sarawak on Tuesday (Sep 8 ) when their helicopter crashed near the Long Lellang STOLport in Marudi. The pilot, a medical officer, an assistant medical officer and two nurses were on duty with a “flying doctor” service when the crash occurred. Such services typically use aircraft to provide medical care, emergency transport and clinical services to rural or isolated areas. Investigations into the incident are underway.
