Gastech 2026: Singapore wants more flexible LNG deals to guard against supply shocks, says GasCo CEO

Singapore wants to build a more diversified and flexible gas supply portfolio to better withstand future disruptions, according to Singapore GasCo CEO Alan Heng. Speaking to CNA’s Roland Lim at Gastech 2026 in Bangkok, Heng says future LNG contracts should allow cargoes to be diverted to neighbouring ASEAN countries without additional costs when needed. He also calls for greater regional cooperation as ASEAN countries become net importers of gas.
