AirAsia co-founder dismisses reports of financial strain, Malaysian rival airlines taking over

AirAsia co-founder Tony Fernandes on Friday (Sep 18) dismissed as “ludicrous” reports about the airline’s financial situation. His remarks followed a Reuters report that Malaysia’s government had asked rival airlines whether they could take over AirAsia’s domestic market share as authorities carry out contingency planning and monitor the budget carrier’s financial health.
