Spain unveils housing decree after protests over eviction of 87-year-old #worldnow

The government of #Spain has unveiled new housing measures after an 87-year-old woman was evicted from the apartment she had lived in for 70 years, sparking days of mass protests in #Madrid. The decree extends eviction protections for vulnerable people until 2030, taxes seasonal rentals and bans speculative purchases by vulture funds until 2028. It also offers interest-free loans for first-time buyers.
