A 16-year-old Egyptian actor is making waves in China. Omar Sherif was cast from around 6,000 young actors to star as Saif in Chinese anti-war epic "Once Upon a Time in the Middle East." Despite having Chinese ancestry, the teen had to study Mandarin for the role. Omar's journey, from China to Egypt and back again, reflects how people carry stories across borders, and how these stories find their way home. In recent years, cinema has opened up a new avenue for cultural connection between China and the Arab world. Seen the film?
