At 92, Chinese retiree leaps and runs to two world titles

At 92, Lyu Mingpu is still jumping, running and winning. The retiree from east China’s Shandong Province was the oldest member of the 105-strong Chinese mainland delegation, but walked away with four medals at the World Masters Athletics Championships in Daegu, the Republic of Korea. Lyu soared 2.05 meters to win the men’s long jump for his age group, and ran the anchor leg as China took gold in the M85 4×100-meter relay. He also claimed silver in the triple jump and bronze in the 200 meters. Before retiring, Lyu worked for a mining company and only took up sports later in life.
